Threat!
Lunar New Year is coming up soon (I’m trying to make myself say “lunar new year” more because that is the politically correct(maybe??) term. So used to saying “chinese new year” but of course, there are other people who celebrate it too - man, I can go so off topic…)!
My mom is cleaning the house because it’s a custom or something before the New Year and we’re having a big family dinner on Sunday (…wow, I just realized she’s cleaning so early…) night.
She just called me to ask if she could throw this stack of my high school stuff away. All these high school stuff includes notes! that I might want to look over one day OR share it with my kids?!?!? Why throw these precious things out, man? Just in case(!!!!!), I stay and raise my kids in Boston, they might need it! What if they go to Boston Latin?! What if the teachers aren’t that good anymore? Those “useless” notebooks can help my kids learn! Or what if my kids go to some other high school and don’t get a chance to learn Latin, hello! my notes to the rescue!
My mom: give me a reason why you need/want to keep them.
(silence because I didn’t want to explain the short blurb above to her - but that’s a valid reason right?!)
“If you’re not going to be using any of these stuff within this year, I’m throwing them away.”
Her reasons to throw my stuff away: all these stuff are from 2008 and 2009 and I haven’t touched them for at least three years now.
NO WAY, JOSE!! Her reasons shouldn’t be valid, right?!
